Coworking that works for Creatives Pros

Rahway is fast becoming known for its arts scene and I'm lucky enough to be right in the heart of it all. Follow my blog for an insider's perspective on arts & cultural events, dining, and more.

The coworking movement has arrived in Rahway, New Jersey.  CoHQ, a new coworking office for creative professionals and not-for-profit arts organizations operated by Rahway Arts District Inc., is accepting applications for shared and private office space. This office environment is ideal for professionals working in the creative industry, including graphic artists, designers, web programmers and developers, illustrators, writers, consultants for the arts, and businesses seeking to share a synergistic, art-focused office environment in a full or part-time capacity.

Coworking presents a solution to the problem of working in isolation and removes the distractions of working from home. It also provides opportunities for networking and collaboration in an informal shared office environment. This unique setting serves as a resource for individuals seeking to enhance productivity. Rahway Arts District, Inc. views coworking as a progressive alternative to traditional office space, and looks at this space in particular as an incubator for innovation and creative trades.

The building is located in the heart of Rahway, four blocks from the Rahway train station and adjacent to the Union County Performing Arts Center (UC PAC). It is a perfect location for performing arts companies who want to make use of administrative office space nearby UC PAC’s Main Stage theater, Loft, and Hamilton Stage for the Performing Arts.

What makes CoHQ special
? There are four points that I think distinguish this coworking office from others in the area.

We’re artists too. Yes, Rahway Arts District is a non-profit economic development organization, but underneath it all, we are creative-minded people approaching our work from an artistic perspective. We know what fuels artists and we’ve tailored our space to meet those needs.

It’s in the little things…Walk into CoHQ and you’ll find two contemporary fine art galleries featuring talented New Jersey and New York artists. Over 500 art publications are available for perusal in the Book Nook reading lounge. Breathe in and smell delicious gourmet coffee – it’s super fresh and roasted in small batches by Bean & Leaf Roastery in Avon, NJ.  Did I mention we often bake fresh cookies?

We’re in the business of creating community. It comes back to the fact that we want to foster an artistic community in Rahway. We envision CoHQ as an incubator for innovation, original ideas, and arts-based businesses. We host creative forums, networking nights and other events especially suited to inspired individuals.

We want to see you to succeed. Part of our mission is to support the growth of the business community in downtown Rahway. Small businesses and creative enterprises have an important place within the fabric of Rahway.
