Woodbridge Schedules Flu Shot Clinics

Flu and pneumonia inoculations are being offered for township residents on Sept. 27 and Oct. 4.

The Woodbridge Health Dept. is holding two clinics for residents to receive flu and pneumonia immunization shots. They will take place:

  • On Tues., Sept. 27, from 9 am to 12 noon at the Evergreen Center at 400 Inman Ave. in Colonia; and
  • On Tues., Oct. 4, from 4:30 pm to 7 pm at the Woodbridge Health Center behind the Woodbridge Main Library.

Medicare patients with a Medicare card can receive both the flu and pneumonia vaccines without charge. Other township residents can receive the flu vaccine for $15 and the pneumonia vaccine for $60.

The flu shot is recommended for adults over age 50, health care providers, caretakers for high risk patients, residents of nursing homes and other institutions housing long-term care patients. Women who will be in the second or third trimester of pregnancy during flu season and individuals with chronic heart and lung problems, diabetes, and/or conditions that lower body resistance are also encouraged to get the flu vaccine.
