Woodbridge Medical Marijuana Dispensary Opens

More than 400 people have already purchased medicinal marijuana at the dispensary.

The third medical marijuana dispensary in New Jersey officially opened its doors on Wednesday in Woodbridge.

The Garden State Dispensary is located on Route 1 at a former 6th Avenue Electronics store in the township. It began registering patients in November.

The other two medical marijuana dispensaries in New Jersey are located in Egg Harbor and Montclair.

According to a report on NJ.com, 430 people had purchased medicinal marijuana between the dispensary's soft opening on Nov. 22 and its grand opening on Wednesday.

As of Thursday, the dispensary will serve 40 people per day, the report said.

Garden State Dispensary is run by Michael Weisser, a Florida man who runs eight nonprofit medical marijuana dispensaries in Colorado with his son, David. He spent $7 million to purchase the property, renovate the building and set up the clinic, according to the report.

1,500 people are registered in NJ for medicinal marijuana, according to the report.
