Township Receives FEMA Grant for Raritan River Cleanup

The grant is for $38,700, and is being used for storm debris cleanup.

The township is making use of a $38,700 grant to begin clearing parts of the Raritan River, nj.com reports.

The grant money, awarded to Woodbridge through the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Superstorm Sandy Emergency Recovery Program, is being used toward cleaning up overgrowth and storm debris on the southern end of the river, according to the report.

The grant is funded through the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the project has already begun, according to the report.
