Township Plans 9/11 Rememberance

The ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 9/11 Memorial Park.

Woodbridge Township first responders, city officials and religious leaders will gather at 9/11 Memorial Park on Wednesday for an interfaith ceremony marking the 12th anniversary of 9/11.

The ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11 at the park, located in front of the township municipal building.

The event is open to the public and hosted by the Woodbridge Mayor's Office, the Woodbridge Interfaith Clergy Council, Woodbridge emergency response teams and the Woodbridge Township Veterans Alliance, according to a press release from the mayor's office.

Nine Woodbridge residents were killed in the 9/11 terrorist attacks and their names will be remembered at the ceremony. The police, fire and EMS teams from Woodbridge who were dispatched to assist on 9/11 will also be honored.
