It's the dead of winter, and the only thing that seems to consistently go up is your utility bills.
If you're looking to figure out how to save money, you might want to invest in a $49 home energy audit conducted by Ciel Power. The township is touting a partnership they made with that firm to offer Woodbridge homeowners an assessment of their energy use and how they can save money by making changes.
They say that a home energy assessment highlights specific repairs and upgrades that can save homeowners up to 30 percent on their utility bill. It's a means of participating in the New Jersey Home Performance with Energy Star Program which provides New Jersey residents up to $5,000.00 in rebates and up to $10,000.00 in zero-interest financing to cover the cost of energy-saving improvements to the home.
The audit consists of a technician using diagnostic tools to perform comprehensive safety tests and collect detailed information about the home. The audit explores weaknesses in each of the home's systems that may contribute to its overall safety, comfort, durability, and energy-efficiency.
The evaluation takes between two and four hours, the company said on their website. On a follow up visit, a consultant goes over the Home Energy Assessment and makes recommendations to increase energy efficiency, and provides details about rebates and incentives available to help pay for the suggested improvements.

As far as the developmental center is concerned, I learned about this meeting in Montclair two days ago, and because of prior commitments, I couldn't make it. If you know of anyone who wants to talk about what happened, please have them email me. I'll do a story on it.
