Kyrillos Campaign Plans Pricey Fundraiser

Mark your calendar for October 18 for a U.S. Senate fundraiser featuring First Lady Mary Pat Christie, to be held in Woodbridge.

State Senator Joe Kyrillos is coming to Woodbridge for a fundraiser on Thursday, October 18, but if you plan on going, you might want to up the limit on your credit card.

Tickets start at $250 a person, and go all the way on up to $10,000.

Running for U.S. Senate is definitely not an inexpensive proposition.

The fundraiser for Republican Kyrillos' senate campaign against the incumbent, Democrat Robert Menendez, is going to be held at the Renaissance Woodbridge Hotel in the Iselin section of the township.

The last time Kyrillos was at the Woodbridge hotel was in June, when he attended a fundraiser for Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney.

The cocktail reception is from 6 pm to 8 pm. The special guest will be NJ's First Lady Mary Pat Christie.

The high level memberships for the fundraiser entitle the purchasers to photo-ops with Kyrillos, and presumably, Mrs. Christie, and a number of general admission tickets to the cocktail party. The top tier is $10,000, with the lowest tier starting at $2,500.

Kyrillos abandoned his District 13 constituents by not even making a comment to support Union Beach in its fight to prevent a 38-story noisy industrial wind turbine with blades each the size of a cell tower from being erected way too close to a lot of homes. It would further degrade home values in our working class town, along with a host of other problems. Hazlet, Matawan, Holmdel, Keyport, Union Beach and Monmouth County (all within his district) also passed resolutions opposing the turbine. But still Kyrillos refused to weigh in, even after he granted a meeting to a few locals looking for his help. Recently, he was the only Republican sponsor on a bill that would have allowed wind turbines up to 500' tall on preserved farm land in two southern NJ counties. http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/bills/BillView.asp?BillNumber=S2887 Kyrillos is not what he claims. He's a wheeling-and-dealing back door politician with no loyalty to the people he's supposed to represent. I'm a Republican, and will gladly vote for a write-in candidate as Kyrillos is deliberately throwing his Union Beach area constituents under the bus.

The wind turbines were a non-issue and still are. Installing them in the Monmouth County ghetto's are just fine with me. So I guess you would rather Menendez?

Guess who...First of all, if a 40-story industrial installation were planned for 1,000 feet from your home, you'd be angry and fighting too. (2) By copsonsoring S2887, Kyrillos supports the 90 billion in wasted green energy subsidies that Romney nailed Obama on during the debate. He also insulted Union Beach. (3) Then Senator Tom Kean stepped up to the plate when Sea Girt was threatened with the same thing, and that contributed to Sea Girt defeating their industrial wind turbine. (4) Union Beach is anything but a "Monmouth County ghetto." Shame on you for calling us that. Additionally, people living in ghettos should not be targets of forced industrial intrusions any more than the folks in Colts Neck.

@Bill Heller I stand by my opinion of your "wonderful" town. PS>> do me a favor the trash from your town that decided to move to my town, a few doors down....take them back please. They belong in Union Beach.
