Honor Local Veterans at Sunday's Parade

The township veteran's day parade will begin at 1:30 p.m Sunday, Nov. 10.

Woodbridge will gather to honor its local veterans during the annual parade, scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10.

The parade will begin at Ross Street School #11 and march down Main Street, ending at the Woodbridge Municipal Building, according to a press release from the township. It will be followed by a ceremony in front of the building.

“It is a great privilege to recognize our veterans and to let them know that we appreciate their sacrifice in the defense of our freedom and for their service to our nation in times of emergency and disaster," Mayor John McCormac said, in a prepared statement.

The parade will feature active duty servicemen and women, veterans and representatives from the following organizations, according to the release: 

American Legion Post #87, American Legion Post #471, American Legion Post #248, the Cpl. Kevin J. Reinhard Marine Corps League Detachment #189, VFW Woodbridge Memorial Post #4410, VFW Hopelawn Memorial Post #1352,  VFW Colonia Memorial Post #6061, VFW Avenel Memorial Post #7164, VFW Iselin Memorial Post #2636, VFW Fords Memorial Post #6090, DAV Chapter #56, Woodbridge public service and emergency response units, scouting, youth, civic and historic organizations and marching bands from Woodbridge, Colonia and JFK High School.
