The town hall forum is the latest in the governor's series of freewheeling, sometimes raucous, meetings, which have been held around the state. Christie has been traversing the state, touting his reform agenda which includes changes to government workers' healthcare and pension changes to help resolve the state's debt crisis.

The governor laughed and said she "should write a note to my wife." The Christies had just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on Tuesday.

Mayor McCormac, a Democrat and former state treasurer, was named to Christie's transition team when Christie assumed the governorship. It's unclear if the mayor will be attending.

"The event is on his schedule. No determination has been made yet if he will be there," said John Hagerty, the mayor's spokesman.

Seating for the forum is on a first-come, first-serve basis, and the event is open to the public. No tickets are necessary for admission.
