Freeholder and Fords Resident Dalina Dies

Pete Dalina was the owner of Dalina'a Tavern and Restaurant in Fords.

Middlesex County Chosen Freeholder Stephen J. "Pete" Dalina died Saturday at the age of 83.

According to a report on NJ.com, Dalina, who was still holding elected office, was a Woodbridge resident and longtime business owner of Dalina's Tavern and Restaurant in Fords.

Dalina also served as Woodbridge Councilman for 16 years prior to his term as Freeholder, according to the report.

According to an obituary posted on mycentraljersey.com, Dalina was a lifelong Woodbridge Township resident, having been born in Keasbey and lived in Fords.

He served in the US Coast Guard, and was an ex-chief of the Fords Fire Company.

Visitation will be held at 7-9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7 and 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8 at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords.

A funeral service will be held at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9 at the funeral home, followed by a 10:30 a.m. service at  Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church in Fords, according to the obituary.
