County is Hiring Sandy Cleanup Workers

Need a job? You may be able to get temporary employment to help mitigage the destruction of Hurricane Sandy.

Temporary jobs are available to the unemployed to assist with Hurricane Sandy cleanup, and can be obtained by going to the One Stop Career Center in Perth Amboy and New Brunswick, according to a post on the city of New Brunswick's website on Wednesday:

Middlesex County has received funding from the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development to assist in the recovery from Hurricane Sandy. The funds are to be used to hire temporary workers to assist with the restoration and cleanup from Hurricane Sandy.

The only people eligible to be hired with these funds are people who are unemployed and not receiving any government assistance or individuals unemployed for more than six months and not receiving government assistance, or those who have lost their jobs due to Hurricane Sandy.

Individuals who may qualify should contact the One Stop Career Centers in New Brunswick and Perth Amboy at (732) 826-3200 to be certified as eligible.
