County Corps Offers Jobs to Students

The Middlesex County Youth Conservation Corps - whose mission since 2006 has been to protect and preserve more than 7,000 acres of Open Space owned by the county from misuse, polluters and the forces of nature - is looking to hire students to help with the work.

Conservation Corps crew members earn $8.50 per hour and will work Saturdays from March 30 through June 1. Students age 16 and over are encouraged to apply.

Activities include trail building, litter clean-up, invasive species removal and wildlife habitat improvements. Applicants should be enthusiastic, self motivated and willing to work and learn as a part of a team. Also, applicants must have the capacity to walk several miles and stand for extended periods of time, the willingness to get dirty and work outdoors in various weather conditions and the ability to use various hand tools.
