BOE to Adopt Tentative Budget Tonight

A special meeting is being held tonight at Avenel Middle School by the Board of Education

The Monday after the state released its budget aid figures for school districts, the Woodbridge Board of Education will be holding a special meeting to adopt its tentative budget for the 2013-2014 school year.

Woodbridge received a modest increase in aid of $71,504 from Trenton, bringing the total from $23,285,384 for the 2012-2013 school year to $23,356,888 for this year's budget.

The township fared better than comparable municipalities such as neighboring Edison, which had no increase in its state aid budget.

No district had its aid slashed, as had been it the case in some towns in recent years.

The special meeting will be held at 7 pm at Avenel Middle School, the Board posted on their webpage.
