Two New Officers Join Woodbridge PD

Officers Perry Penna and Anthony Barcellona are both lifelong Woodbridge residents.

The Woodbridge Police Department welcomed two new officers to its ranks on Friday afternoon.

Officers Anthony Barcellona and Perry Penna, both lifelong Woodbridge residents, were sworn in on Friday afternoon in a ceremony at the township municipal building.

Both men were trained at the Monmouth County Police Training Academy and successfully completed testing by the New Jersey Department of Personnel, New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, and the Woodbridge Police Department, according to a release from the township.

Barcellona received an associate's degree in criminal justice from Middlesex County College. Previously, he served as a Middlesex County Park Ranger and a special officer with Woodbridge Police, as well as a volunteer auxiliary officer with the department, according to the release. 

Penna received a bachelor's degree in police studies from John Jay College and is a former dispatcher with the Fords Fire Company. He has also served as a volunteer firefighter with the Iselin Fire Company and as an EMT with the Woodbridge Township First Aid Squad, according to the release.
