Two Dead in Strawberry Hill Murder-Suicide, Police Say

Police suspect a man shot and killed his former companion outside of her home before killing himself.

Police are investigating the circumstances behind a homicide-suicide in town in which a Brooklyn man is believed to have shot and killed his former companion before turning the gun on himself.

Stephanie Barrios, 29, was shot and killed around 8:30 p.m. Monday while she sat in a 2007 Mercedes parked outside of a house on Strawberry Hill Avenue where she was currently living. 

Luis Rosado, 46, of Brooklyn, N.Y. was also found dead at the scene of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to a press release from the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office.

According to authorities, Rosado and Barrios lived together in Brooklyn for a number of years until they separated two years ago. Barrios moved to Woodbridge to live with relatives, according to the release. 

Rosado was listed as the owner of the car. Two handguns were found at the scene.

Autopsy results were not yet available at press time.
