Tornado Advisory for Middlesex Area Thru 7 pm

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch through 7 pm, and strong wind advisory through midnight.


Beware, there may be some strong winds blowing our way.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a tornado watch for much of New Jersey, including the central part of the state. The watch is in effect through 7 pm. 

This is part of a storm that is currently passing through Pennsylvania, andalso brings a wind advisory, along with thunderstorms and hail, with it. The area is being warned to expect strong winds with gusts up to 45 mph and lashing rain through midnight tonight.

The storm was passing through Monroe County in Pennsylvania around 2 pm. Measurements taken then showed the wind gusts reaching 46 mph with 2-1/2 inches of rain dropped in that area.

Homeowners and drivers are warned that winds can topple tree limbs and utility lines, while patio furniture and trash cans can become airborne. Driving may also prove to be treacherous, particularly on bridges and elevated roadways.
