Three Injured in Overturned Vehicle Crash on Parkway

The victims, all of whom were conscious, were rescued after the windshield of the van tin which they were traveling was pried off.


A white van traveling on the Garden State Parkway early this morning flipped over in an accident, imprisoning the vehicle's three occupants.

The van, which was traveling northbound on the Parkway just after midnight when the vehicle flipped over. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.

The vehicle flipped over at the foot of one of a bridge, said Sgt. Adam Grossman, spokesman for the New Jersey State Police. It came to rest in the middle lane.

Inside, three occupants were trapped. The windshield of the vehicle had to be pried off in order to rescue the victims.

All three were conscious, Grossman said, when they were transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.

Grossman said their injuries were not considered to be life-threatening.
