As expected, the Conrail improvements on the Route 35 grade crossing caused some traffic problems today. But the grade crossing work and other improvements, including new sidewalks, is slated to be finished by 6 pm Monday evening.
That should ease traffic woes throughout the township by rush hour Tuesday.
The grade crossing is located next to the Kings Garden Apartments and the Woodbridge Main Library. Work started at 7 am on Sunday morning when Route 35 was closed and motorists faced detour signs to get them to their destinations.
Here are some pictures of the work as it progressed today.
