More than 4,000 customers were still without power in Middlesex County at midnight Sunday, according to PSE&G.
PSE&G reported that roughly 1,500 were without power in Edison and another 3,500 had no electricity in Highland Park. Another 4,600 homes and businesses hit by a power outage in Union Township, Elizabeth and Roselle Park earlier Saturday were back online, according to PSE&G.
Cews were on the scene of a malfunction at an Edison substation earlier Saturday, but they were still assessing the situation into the night, according to The Star Ledger.

The Union County outages were being attributed to a fire this morning at a PSE&G substation on Lehigh Avenue in Union, the power company told The Star Ledger.
