Possible Flooding Predicted in Thursday Rainstorm

The National Weather Service is calling for potentially heavy rain with gusting winds for Thursday.

Batten down the hatches, Woodbridge is in for some heavy rain that for area residents, may recall last year's record flooding.

The National Weather Service is predicting heavy rain storms that may dump as much as three inches of rain with wind gusts reaching up to 30 mph on the township through Thursday night. Residents who live in areas prone to flooding, such as low lying areas with streams burdened with water from this season's record snowfalls are cautioned to keep a watch on the storm.

Anticipating the storm, Gov. Chris Christie declared a state of emergency Wednesday so that state agencies will be prepared to deploy resources to local governments in the case flooding materializes.
