Pick Up Crashes Into a New St. House

The homeowners got the surprise of their lives Saturday morning.

The homeowners of a New St. home got the surprise of their lives early Saturday when a pick up truck impaled itself into their side porch. Police arrested George Leddy, 50, of Woodbridge on DUI charges after his truck came to rest on the home, dislodging the porch roof to land on top of the truck.

As bad as it appears, township building inspectors determined that the house, located at the intersection of New St. and Fulton St., was habitable. The early morning crash caused minor structural damage to the front of house and foundation, with obvious extensive damage to the front porch where the truck landed.
