UPDATE: Rail Service Resumes With Delays

A pedestrian was struck and killed by an Amtrak train at 3:30 p.m. Monday, causing train service to be disrupted at Metropark.

Rail service has resumed between the Metropark and Trenton rail stations with delays up to one hour following a pedestrian strike at Metropark.

All train service was halted between the two stations on the Northeast Corridor line earlier this afternoon after aΒ  pedestrian was hit and killedΒ by a train at 3:30 p.m. by an Amtrak train carrying 206 passengers, according to NJ.com.

According to the NJ Transit website, delays up to one hour are expected on trains in both directions. Delays of up to 15-20 minutes are also expected on the North Jersey Coast Line.
