Menlo Park Terrace Couple Loses $9K in Vacation Money to Thieves
Burglars broke down the door of a Woodbridge Township couple Tuesday, and made off with their vacation savings.
A Menlo Park Terrace couple lost $9,000 of their vacation money in a home burglary Tuesday.
said that the 60-year-old wife came home around 3:15 pm on September 11 to their McGuire Street home to find that the door was broken in and the deadbolt lock smashed in a break-in.
She had left the home early that morning after feeding a neighborhood cat and believed she may have forgotten to set the alarm when she left for work.

The wife and husband looked around and immediately went to a drawer in the bedroom where they kept $9,000 in cash, money they were saving for a vacation.

The money was gone, police said.
Also missing were military medals - a Korean Defense medal and a Good Conduct medal, both estimated at $50.
Police questioned neighbors, but no one heard anything unusual. The break-in artist left fingerprints and palm prints on the door, police said.
