Frank Barbaccia, who was arrested for dropping Sorice's body on an Iselin curb, is back home in Congers, NY.

The man arrested for dumping the body of Nicholas Sorice at a curb in Iselin last week has posted bail.

Frank Barbaccia, 43, of Congers, NY, was arrested at the Woodbridge Police station last week. He was charged with lying to police about the circumstances surrounding Sorice's fate and for unlawfully discarding his body in the street after believing the man to be dead.

Police said the two men were acquaintances.

Barbaccia was released from the Woodbridge jail, having met the $50,000 bail almost immediately before he otherwise would have been transported for holding at the county jail facility in North Brunswick.

When reached by telephone, Barbaraccia, who owns an auto body shop in Congers, had no comment on the charges pending against him.

Barbaccia has not been charged in Sorice's death. Authorities have not said what was caused the death of Sorice, 26, a Colonia native. They are still waiting for the results of a toxicological study, which may take at least another week to come back.

Sorice's body was found by a motorist in the early morning hours of May 18. Police and the county prosecutor's office announced the arrest of Barbaccia less than two days later.

Hundreds of mourners showed up for Sorice's wake and funeral. There were also dozens who lit candles and participated in an impromptu vigil near the Willow Ave. spot where Sorice's body was found.

Anyone with information about Sorice's death is asked to call Det. Galinas of the Woodbridge Police Dept. at 732-602-7321, or Investigator Villegas of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office at 732-745-4428.
