Get a $10 Gift Card for Donating Blood

It's always difficult to get people to donate blood, but during the holiday season, it's particularly hard.

This year, blood banks report that their supplies are dropping to dangerously low levels for the area.

And to entice people, busy with their holiday preprations the week before Christmas, the Blood Center of New Jersey is giving each donor a $10 gift card to ShopRite.

The blood drive, which is belng sponsored by the Woodbridge Township Firefighters Local #290, is being held at the Port Reading Fire House at 916 West Avenue today from 3 pm to 8:30 pm.

Donors are asked to bring a photo ID and to eat prior to donating blood.
