Freezing Rain Advisory in Effect Friday Morning

Motorists urged to be aware of slick driving conditions.

Motorists are urged to use caution Friday morning as freezing rain has caused hazardous driving conditions throughout the area.

The National Weather Service issued a freezing rain advisory through 11 a.m. today. A mix of rain and sleet with a light glaze of ice has caused slick roadways around the region.

Drivers are urged to be aware of black ice, especially on bridges and overpasses. Temperatures will remain in the upper 20s to low 30s through the morning, before warming up to a high of 43 degrees later Friday.

The forecast for the remainder of Friday calls for mostly cloudy skies with a chance of rain and an overnight low of 34 degrees.
