Digging Backs up Route 35 Traffic

If you travel anywhere along Route 35, be aware that traffic is backed up because of two massive digs along the heavily traveled road.

Traffic is bottlenecked between and the railroad tracks near the because of two massive holes in the road dug by . The utility is in the midst of replacing the almost century-old water main in that area that is prone to breaking, floods, and water outages.

Both digging operations are on the southbound side of Route 35, and traffic in that direction is rerouted into the northbound lane, meaning that there is only one lane in each direction.

At 4 pm, traffic was starting to back up to the other side of the Route 1 and 9 overpass on St. Georges Ave.
