57 Middle School 'Recruits' Graduate from WPD Junior Police Academy

Students with an interest in law enforcement learned a lot in a week-long program.

Some middle school students recently spent a little bit of time learning a lot about law enforcement.

Fifty-seven students of township middle schools were recruited to the Woodbridge Police Dept.'s Junior Police Academy. The students in grades 6 through 8 demonstrated interest in a career in law enforcement, and they spent a week learning the ropes with real-life police officers.

The Junior Police Academy's Boot Camp targeted such issues as character building, teamwork, and discipline. Students were instructed in such issues as motor vehicle stops, the effects of drinking and driving, SWAT teams, and crime scene investigation.
