T. O'Brien Sr. of West Caldwell, N.J., formerly of Woodbridge, N.J.,
passed away suddenly on Oct. 26, 2013, at the age of 77.

Tuesday, Oct. 29, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be held
on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by the
Funeral Mass in St. Aloysius Church, Caldwell, N.J., at 11 a.m.

Mr. O'Brien was born in Jersey City, N.J., and lived in Woodbridge for
20 years before settling in West Caldwell for the past seven years. He
was employed as a linesman with Amtrak railroad in Elizabeth, N.J., for
25 years before retiring in 2001. Robert served his country in the Navy
during the Bay of Pigs before being honorably discharged. He was active
with the Port Reading Knights of Columbus for many years, and was
well-known as an avid bowler, playing in various leagues in his
He was the beloved husband of the late Rosalind (nee
Conticello); loving father of Marirose Albanese and her husband, Rick,
and Robert T. O'Brien Jr. and his wife, Michelle; cherished grandfather
of Cole and Austin Albanese and Caitlin O'Brien; beloved cousin of
Rosanne Hansen. He is also survived by several relatives and friends. He
was pre-deceased by his siblings, James Jr., Betty Ann, Richard,
William and Francis.
