Obituary: Loretta J. Murphy, 85

The Toms River resident formerly lived in Port Reading.


Loretta J. Murphy, 85, formerly of Port Reading, died Wednesday at her home in Toms River.

Born in Bayonne, Loretta had lived in the Township before moving here to Toms River in 1997. She was associated with Bergen Avenue Bus Company in Bayonne for many years. 

She was predeceased by her husband, Brandon, in 1974. Loretta is survived by two sons, Brandon and Donald, both of North Carolina; a daughter, Geraldine R. Mickley of Howell; three brothers, Joseph Pryor of Pennington, Jerome Pryor and Peter Pryor, both of Toms River; one sister, Carol James of Carteret; five grandchildren, Brandon Mickley, Amanda Mickley, Mitchell Mickley, Sean
Murphy and Erin Murphy; and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township, on Friday, April 13, 2012 from 5:30 pm to 9 pm.

Friends and relatives may gather at the Funeral Home on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 9 am for the procession to St. Robert Bellarmine RC Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township, for her 10 am funeral mass.
