Obituary: Julia Churko

Julia Churko worked as a cafeteria worker for the Perth Amboy Board of Education until her retirement in 1974.

Julia Churko, 97, of Woodbridge passed away peacefully on Tuesday Nov. 19th at her home. Born in Perth Amboy, Julia grew up there before moving to Woodbridge in 1978. She was employed as a cafeteria worker for Perth Amboy Board of Education before retiring in 1974. Julia was a parishioner of St. James R.C. Church, Woodbridge. In the 35 years since her husband Joseph passed away, she devoted her days to her daughters, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, maintaining weekly communication with them in PA, CA, OR and Australia.

Julia was predeceased by husband Joseph Churko in 1979, 3 siblings John, Stephen and Bannert Csorba. She is survived by her three loving daughters Nancy Reager and her husband John of Woodbridge, Arlene Cole of Marlton, Joan Brana and her husband Joseph of Woodbridge, 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Resurrection at St. James Church and interment at Cloverleaf Memorial park were conducted privately on Saturday Nov. 23rd under the special care of the Gerity & Chubenko Funeral Home, 411 Amboy Avenue, Woodbridge. Memorial donations in Julia's name may be made to: Haven Hospice 65 James Street Edison, NJ 08820.
