After Brief Hiatus, Woodbridge Rockers Are Back

After writing new music and regional tour dates, Woodbridge, N.J. rock trio Audio Insight announces first NY/NJ dates.

Next month, for the first time since their second consecutive appearance at the Bamboozle Music Festival and opening slot for Foxy Shazam last summer at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, Woodbridge-based progressive rock/post-hardcore trio Audio Insight will be returning to the Garden State.

On Saturday, April 20 at 8 p.m., alongside Empire Escorts and additional acts the band will take the stage at Kenilworth, N.J.'s 10th Street Live as part of the venue's Hard Rock Bash. Prior, Audio Insight's first appearance of 2013 will take place on Saturday, March 30th at New York City's Bar East with Margo Macero. Set-time is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. It will be Audio Insight’s second time playing Bar East and their first time playing New York since the 2011 Exposed Music Festival at the Trash Bar in Brooklyn.

"We're all really excited to be taking the stage again after writing and being on the down low for awhile," says Anthony Celi, the band's lead vocalist and guitarist. "We're excited to get the new music — which is a lot darker and more ambient than our past efforts — out there as soon as possible. There's a lot more space and open air (to the new music), but there's also a whole lot of huge anthemic parts in addition to some crazy noodling as well. Our sound has become a lot more dynamic as a whole. For our fans, we say expect the unexpected."

In addition to Celi, Audio Insight also includes Mike Deverin (bass) and Dan Sullivan (drums and percussion).

After performing at Bamboozle 2012 and opening for Foxy Shazam, the trio took their prog-rock/post-hardcore sound to regional tour dates in Virginia last year. In November, Audio Insight released their latest single “Bathe in the Earth” which debuted (and continues to get spins) on 89.5 FM WSOU — the same station that broke the band in January 2011.

Hailing from Central New Jersey, Audio Insight broke onto the scene in 2010 with their acclaimed debut album "Dimensions." To date, the band's Facebook following is nearing 2,175 and currently includes fans from over 20 different countries including the United States. Audio Insight also remains active on their YouTube channel.

Prior to their return to the NY/NJ area, the band will have opened for several nationally touring acts, performed at venues in and outside of the tri-state area, represented the Garden State at the Mall of America's Indie Music Festival, been voted among the top unsigned acts by The Aquarian Weekly, named artist of the month by EatSleepBreatheMusic.com and named album of the month by NewEars.org.
