1/4 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup cane syrup

3 eggs

1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup pean halves

1 9-inch pie crust

Recipe

Pre-heat the oven to 325 degrees. Combine butter, sugar, flour and salt in a mixing bowl and beat until creamy and smooth. Add the cane syrup, eggs, and vanilla and mix. Than, slowly fold in the pecans.

Pour the pie filling into the pie crust and pop it into the oven. Bake for 45-50 minutes (or until the pie becomes firm).

The pie will "puff up" and rise slightly above the crust. As it cools, it will sink a bit so don't be alarmed! The pecans mixed in the filling will all float to the top of the pie mixture as it bakes.

Β

You can serve the pie either warm or cool - it's delicious either way. Another great way to gobble it up is with a dollop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream on top.
