Sister of Cpl. Reinhard Raising Money for Scholarship

The Cpl. Kevin J. Reinhard Scholarship benefits students at St. Joseph's High School in Metuchen.

Kathleen Reinhard, the sister of Cpl. Kevin J. Reinhard, is raising money to benefit the scholarship created in her brother's name.

According to Reinhard's GoFundMe page, she ran theΒ Marine Corps Marathon 10K in October in honor of her brother, who was killed in Afghanistan in January 2012 at the age of 25.

She established the fundraiser in connection with her run to benefit the Cpl. Kevin J. Reinhard Scholarship, which benefits students at St. Joseph's High School in Metuchen.

Reinhard met her goal of $1,000, as $1,155Β  was raised for last year's marathon. However, she continues to raise money for the scholarship in connection with the Oct. 26, 2014 marathon, which she hopes to run in full this year.

Donations will be accepted through October of this year to benefit the scholarship, according to the website.
