Volunteers to be Commended Sunday at Woodbridge Center

The Mayor will host a ceremony at noon Sunday recognizing Woodbridge volunteers.

The efforts of three dozen local volunteers will be official commended on Sunday during a ceremony hosted by Mayor John McCormac at Woodbridge Center Mall.

At noon Sunday, Oct. 20, at the lower level of the Sears wing of the mall, over 35 community volunteers will receive the 2013 Mayor's Community Volunteer Award for their efforts in helping the local community.

According to a press release from the mayor's office, the honorees will be recognized for "volunteer service that includes church and community, peer tutors, athletic coaches, hospital aides, senior resident assistance, clothing and food drive coordinators, first aid and fire squad members, serving and assisting area homeless, participating in the annual β€œTooling Around the Township” home repair program, and many more community service endeavors and programs."

The ceremony is open to the public.
