On Tuesday, February 12 at 7pm, the Woodbridge Main Library will celebrate Black History Month with a program on the history of Black Baseball in New Jersey presented by Dr. Lawrence Hogan, professor of History at Union County College.
This presentation includes exhibit materials, as well as selections from the acclaimed video documentary of the same name. The black aspect of our national game is explored, and the speaker examines in depth the rich relationships that comprised “Blackball” during America’s era of segregation.
Please join us for this free, informative and entertaining program which is funded by the Horizon Speakers Bureau of the NJ Council for the Humanities, a state partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities. In case of severe weather, the program will take place on Thursday, February 14.
