BAG IT!                                                                                    (presented by the NJ Environmental Lobby)

Do you know how many plastic bags Americans consume in one minute? One million. Those million per minute bags contribute to 500 billion plastic bags used worldwide every year.

On Thursday, November 8 at 7pm at the Woodbridge Main Library, come see an award-winning documentary on the health implications (and there are many) of our dependence on plastic, the politics of plastic, and what individuals can do to stem the ever-growing trash that surrounds us. Forget zombies, forget vampires, forget nuclear annihilation; if you really want a scare watch Bag It and witness the devastation that results from our innocent shopping trips.

Bag It is not a heavy-handed exposé. Despite its serious subject matter, the documentary is entertaining.  Among the startling statistics presented: the average American uses about 500 plastic bags each year (for an average of 12 minutes before discarding.)

This program is free and open to the public.
