Strong Wind Advisory Set for the Area Tonight

Batten down the outdoors stuff and watch out for tree limbs - we're in for some wicked winds.

A cold front crossing the region later today has caused the National Weather Service (NSW) to issue a strong wind gust advisory for the area.

The Middlesex County area, including , may see winds from 20 to 30 mph with gusts of up to 40 mph tonight. The advisory is from 5 pm today through 7 pm Saturday.

The strongest winds, the advisory said, are expected between 6 pm and 1 am, with gusts diminishing at around 4 am. The winds are expected to pick up again during the day.

Residents are cautioned to beware of falling tree branches and possible downing of weaker trees as well as power outages in the area.  Motorists should also use caution on roadways, particularly when traveling on bridges.
