- Shopping for a last-minute gift for Mother's Day? The Avenel-Colonia First Aid Squad at the corner of Avenel St. and Route 1 is having a flower sale today from 8 am to noon. Great place to pick up some blooms for mom, and help a good organization raise money at the same time.
- The Barron Arts Center's exhibition of art from township senior citizens continues today through May 9. The includes works in oil; acrylic; watercolor; pastel; printmaking; drawings including pencil, pen & ink, chalk and charcoal; mixed media including collage; photography and sculpture. - "Crime Story", an featuring the work of 17 artists inspired by crimes of all kinds and crime-themed artworks, continues today through June 2 at Arts Guild NJ in Rahway. Exhibit hours are 1 to 4 pm, and admission is free. For more info, call 732-381-7511.

- The online art fundraiser run by the Arts Guild New Jersey continues. Over is up for bid, including encaustics, drawings, paintings, sketches, prints, photographs, and sculpture.
