Meet Central NJ's New Year Babies

Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and Saint Peter's University Hospital both welcomed new babies on New Year's Day 2013.


Several families welcomed new babies into their families on New Year's Day at both Saint Peter's University Hospital and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.

The first baby of the year to be born at Saint Peter's University Hospital was little Catherine Li, born to her parents Rong Yuan and Haiqing of Highland Park. 

Catherine weighed 6 pounds, 12 ounces.

At Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, the first baby of the new year at the hospital was born to Tziporah and Leibe Kohl of Lakewood at 4:36 a.m. Jan.1. The family is doing well, according to the hospital.

A few hours later, Trupti Narayan and her husband Ramachandriah Prakesh welcomed their first child, a girl, at 8:37 a.m. at the hospital.

Gandharvika Prakash was actually expected on Dec. 23, according to her parents, who live in South Bound Brook.

In the evening of Jan. 1, Quentin Bradley Ferguson was born via c-section at 8:39 p.m. to parents Leona and Stafford W. Ferguson IV.

The baby made an early appearance, as mom Leona was due to deliver on Jan. 18 and scheduled for a c-section on Jan. 11.

The baby joins his two older brothers, Maxwell Alexander Ferguson, 3, and Stafford Wellington Ferguson V, 5, according to the hospital.

"Leona says that before having any of her children, she had a dream that she would have three sons. On New Year’s Day, that dream became her reality," a release from the hospital said.
