Five Things: Carnivals, Free Movies and a Concert

  1. The Ashlyn Ferriero Second Annual Carnival Benefit Festival  at Mayor Frank Pelzman Park on Tappen St. in Avenel tonight from 6 to 10 pm. The carnival, which features rides, games, food, and fun, continues through Sunday.
  2. More Free Movies! Woodbridge Municipal Govt is sponsoring, to be shown at dusk at Alvin Williams Memorial Park in Sewaren. The showings will be held every Thursday in August. Today's picture is "Alpha and Omega." For more info, call 732-634-4500.
  3. If you missed Wednesday's farmer's market in Woodbridge, try in Rahway.  It's from 11 am to 7 pm at the Rahway Train Station Plaza, between Irving and Broad Streets.
  4. Mike DelGuidice and his Big Shot tribute band - with a nod to Billy Joel - will tonight at 7:30 pm on the stage behind Woodbridge High School. The concert is free.For more info, call 732-634-4500.
  5. Time for Summer Teen Reading. The 's program to get , "You Are Here," has an international theme. Participants can win raffle prizes as well. The program spans the library's three branches. For more info, call 732-634-4450, ext. 7120.
