Down the Shore: Harvest the Bay, 5K, Nature Program

A trip down the shore is just perfect this weekend.

Fall is fast approaching but the fun doesn't stop. Check out what's happening this weekend:

EVENTS

Adults and teens can explore nature at the in Wall, with . The program runs from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and is $10 per person. For more information, call 732-299-4206 or click here.

The  continues with free concerts all weekend. The  performs at 7 p.m. Friday at the . The Jersey Gold Band will play at 7 p.m. Saturday at Beachwood Beach. Sunday, the perform at 7 p.m. at the library. All concerts are free.

The eighth annual  will run through downtown starting at 8:30 a.m. Saturday. Presented by the Jersey Shore Running Club and the Freehold Area Running Club, the race will benefit local charities. For locations and race information, click here or call 732-571-2162.

Learn firsthand how to  with a demonstration at 2 p.m. Friday at . Instructors will show how to clean crabs, open clams and filet fish at the family-friendly class. To register, call 732-793-1698. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for kids and free for those younger than 3.

, Long Branch, will stage "Just in Time: The Judy Holliday Story," at 8 p.m. Friday; 3 and 8 p.m. Saturday; and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $25 to $60 for the show at 179 Broadway; click here to purchase.

If you'd like not to break the bank seeing a new release in a theater, head to the  for free showings of two favorites. "Jaws" will be shown Friday, and "City Slickers" will be played Sunday starting at dusk on the beach at Hiering Avenue. 

NIGHTLIFE

Lighthouse Tavern, 397 Route 9, Waretown — This historical spot used to be a stage coach in the late 1800s and still continues to be a popular destination for locals and tourists alike.

Friday: Live entertainment with Sidewinder and a raw bar from 4 to 6 p.m.

Saturday: Live entertainment with Trax featuring a raw bar from 4 to 6 p.m.

Sunday: Happy hour specials from 4 to 6 p.m. Open mic night.

Daddy O, 4401 Long Beach Boulevard, Long Beach Island — Daddy O Boutique Hotel and Restaurant is a unique and chic escape with an upscale clientele, impressive dining options and a charming rooftop lounge with specialty summer cocktails.

Happy hour everyday with $3.50 domestic beers and house wines, and $5.50 selected cocktails.

Friday: Live music by Ted Hammock and Matt Fisher from 6 to 10 p.m., $3 glasses of Prosecco in the bar and 20 bottles of wine for $20 each.

Saturday:  DJ Elastic starts the dance party at 9 p.m.

Sunday: Dan Barone performs live from 6 to 10 p.m.

High Velocity, 226 Atlantic City Boulevard, Beachwood — This sports bar and grill was recent host to the WRAT 95.9’s RATFEST opening act band search competition and serves as a staple venue for local and regional acts. An all-around kind of place, they’re got great food and drink specials, karaoke, poker leagues, billiards, darts and all the big games.

Friday: $2.50 Yuenglings, $3 Coronas, $4 Bacardi drinks, $5 all you can eat buffet and shot wheel.

Saturday: $2 Blue Moon, Landshark and shot wheel specials.

Sundays: “Nascar Sundays” with $2 Coors Light drafts, karaoke and live music with Mr. Johnny Karma.

Sunday: Flying Mueller Brothers at 2 p.m. Go-Go Gadget and DJ Unique at night with $3 Corona and Corona Lights all night.

 One of the biggest and wildest shore clubs, Bar A has a spread of sand bars, cabanas, tiki bars and club floors. 

Friday: $2.75 Bud and Bud Lights and $2 drinks from 9 to 11 p.m., plus award-winning happy hour with $2.25 pints from 4 to 9 p.m. with DJ Billy Reybert and DJ Mike. Free admission until 9 p.m. DJ Redline on Grotto Beach at 9 p.m. Live music with Rumor Has It at 10 p.m.

Saturday: Famous Dance Party from 9 to 11:30 p.m. with $2.75 Amstel and Heinekens. DJ Billy Reybert on Grotto Beach, 9 p.m. to close with happy hour from 2 to 8 p.m.

Sunday: Party on Grotto Beach from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. with outdoor dance floor, VIP cabanas, bottle service and specials on seafood and raw bar. Seafood Sundays with all you can eat snow crabs starting at 1 p.m.

 — Named after a park in Dublin, this enchanting pub and Irish restaurant is one of the most authentic in the state. There are daily menu specials and weekend live entertainment.

Friday: Live music with Don’t Know Jack at 9:30 p.m.

Saturday: Live music with Billy Lawlor at 9:30 p.m.

Sunday: The Bantry Boys at 6 p.m.
