Woodbridge Animal Shelter Desperate for Supply Donations

Woodbridge Animal Shelter flooded during Hurricane Sandy and much was destroyed. They are desperate for supply donations. Can you help?

The Woodbridge Animal Shelter is located at 195 Woodbridge Ave, Sewaren, NJ and needs community help.

The shelter houses dogs on the first floor and cats on the second floor.  The first floor was flooded with 5 feet of water.  Thankfully they were able to get the dogs to the second floor before the water got too high and have since relocated them to foster homes and vets offices until the first floor damage can be repaired.  The ACO’s had to be rescued by boat after bringing the dogs to safety.

The shelter lost all supplies as well as everything that was on the first floor including their records, the washer and dryer and other necessary items to run the shelter.  Much of the damaged items have already been carted away but there is still much more to clean up.  The community has brought needed supplies to the shelter that should help to get us through the weekend but we need much more to make it through next week.

Supplies can be dropped off from 8:30 AM to 3 PM.  There should be volunteers and staff at the shelter attending to the cats and also cleaning up the first floor and trying to get the shelter to a point where it can operate.  They still are rescuing animals and desperately need foster homes for the dogs.

Supplies that are sorely needed:
