Local Once Upon A Child Opens to Buy Used Clothing

New Resale Shop in Edison Provides Venue for Local Families to Sell Gently-Used Children’s Items

EDISON, NJ – Local parents now have a place to bring that excess of children’s clothes, toys, equipment and more that their kids seem to outgrow daily. A favorite with families, the new Once Upon A Child® in Edison is opening to buy merchandise from the community’s residents on Thursday, October 24.

Located at 561 Route 1, Once Upon A Child is part of a unique national recycling retail chain that specializes in merchandise for infants to pre-teens. In anticipation of its grand opening, the new location is interested in buying quality, gently-used children’s apparel, books, baby equipment and furniture, and more.

“We encourage the community to go through their overflowing closets, bring in their gently-used children’s items that may no longer be needed, and walk out with cash in their pockets,” said Laila Ruzika, who owns the new Once Upon A Child in Edison. “We understand how expensive it is to raise children in this day and age and we wanted to offer an affordable option for local families. By purchasing merchandise directly from consumers, we’re able to offer them a great opportunity to receive cash on the spot for items they may have otherwise given away.”

Unlike a typical consignment store, Once Upon A Child does not require appointments and pays cash on the spot for items it purchases from consumers. At Once Upon A Child families are able to buy necessities for their children at great values, and turn their gently-used items into cash.

In addition, Once Upon A Child ensures that all products purchased and sold meet mandatory and voluntary safety standards. Staff members stay up-to-date on current recalled or retrofitted items, immediately pulling all recalled products from shelves and making sure all items purchased are safety-checked to meet current standards.
