Woodbridge Counted Among Top Places in NJ for Job Seekers

Nerdwallet used statistics from the state's employment website Jobs4jersey.com to calculate good places for job seekers in New Jersey.

Woodbridge proper is a good place to be if you're looking for a job, according to one consumer advocacy website.

Nerdwallet looked at the state website for employment, Jobs4Jersey.com, and analyzed the unemployment rate of each town, the median household income, cost of maintaining a home and the growth in the working age population.

The numbers that came out resulted in a list of the top 15 towns in New Jersey for job seekers, including places like New Brunswick, Hoboken, Paramus, Cherry Hill, Lakewood and Fair Lawn.

Woodbridge was ranked eighth on the list.

According to the report, the working-age population in Woodbridge grew 3.6 percent between 2009-2011. The household median income was $78,446 in 2011.

2013's unemployment rate in Woodbridge was 8 percent, according to the report.

The report also cited the placement of corporations like Wakefern and Hess oil, both with offices in the township, as lending to the strength of the area's employment rate.
