Woodbridge Center's Prom Jam Goes Celebrity

Project Runway and American Idol contestants will help Woodbridge teens get ready prom-ready at Prom Jam.


Every high school student is a star at Prom. This year, teens planning on attending their senior year bash will get some help from TV celebrities.

Contestants from Project Runway and American Idol will be involved in Woodbridge Center's yearly expo, which they call 'Prom Jam.'

The festivities take place on Saturday, March 16, from noon to 6 pm at the mall.

With more than 15 specialty fashion and accessories shops, hairstylists and make-up artists, students  will enjoy capturing the spirit of the Prom Season, as well as the latest trends, at the showcase. 

Prom Jam festivities kick off at noon with live entertainment, mall prizes, a Prom Jam free photo booth and numerous retailer displays. Prom Jam also will showcase two action-packed fashion shows at 2 pm and 5 pm, each displaying the newest in prom and after-prom fashions from Woodbridge Center retailers.

Fashion shows will be hosted by Vinnie Medugno along with Kenley Collins and Christopher Palu, both former contestants and fan favorites from Lifetime Network’s Project Runway. Students from nearby high schools also will participate by modeling and showcasing the trendiest and hottest prom fashions of today.

Also expected are American Idol contestant Julissa Veloz from the show's 8th season, as well as rising pop star Ashley Allen. Fans will have the opportunity to meet and greet their favorite celebs in-between Prom Jam fashion shows.

Woodbridge Center is also hosting an Instagram contest to coincide with Prom Jam where shoppers who visit the mall have the opportunity to locate and pose in front of a POSE-CLICK-SHARE cut-out for their chance to win a $200 Shop Etc. mall gift card.
