Upper Main Street Renovation Continues with New Northfield Bank Branch

The grand opening is May 12, but bank staffers will be at the Woodbridge Community Center next week to say hello and answer any questions.


The rehabilitation of upper Main Street continues apace: is getting ready to open its second branch in Woodbridge next month. 

The bank's new branch address is at 624 Main Street; if that's not familiar, just look for the . Northfield's new building is right next door.

The bank is taking advantage of the proximity to meet its new neighbors in the area. Northfield staff members will hold a meet-and-greet in the lobby of the Woodbridge Community Center next week. On Monday, April 23 from 5 pm to 7 pm and Tuesday, April 24 from 9 am to 11 am, bank staffers will be on hand to meet members of the community and answer any questions.

The actual grand opening will take place with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday, May 12.

The upper Main Street Northfield facility will feature some cutting-edge amenities, like intelligent ATMs which will allow customers to make deposits without the need for an envelope. There will also be a customer waiting lounge, free coin counting, private customer service offices for greater privacy, as well as a free parking lot and drive up service.

Maria Weinstein, the new branch manager, isn't new to the area. She's a bank vice president and previously managed Northfield’s nearby Rahway office. Northfield said  in a statement that Weinstein "is an active member of the greater Woodbridge community, who [volunteers] her time at the , [in Iselin], and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway."

Northfield has a host of plans to celebrate their May 12 grand opening:

  • From 9 am to 1 pm,  the branch will have a Fun Bus on the premises for children from ages 2 to 7; 
  • Customers will also be able to enjoy a variety of activities, including a game prize wheel, a caricature artist, and refreshments; 
  • And the first 50 people in line will receive a $2 bill.

The hours for the upper Main Street branch are: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 9 am am to 4 pm; Thursday, 9 am to 6 pm, and Saturday, 9 am to 1 pm.
