ShopRite Tops Favorite Supermarkets List

A nationwide survey had ShopRite as one of the top supermarkets preferred by consumers, Supermarket News reports.


, based in the Keasbey section of , is one of consumers’ favorite supermarkets, according to a national survey by Market Force Information of Boulder, Colo.

In the survey of 6,400 consumers conducted in March, eight different supermarket chains each tallied at least 2% of the vote, led by Wal-Mart Stores, Kroger Co. and Publix Super Markets. 

ShopRite won along with Giant Foods, the Supermarket News story reports.

To determine which store was their favorite, the respondents were asked where they spend most of the grocery dollars. Publix was a clear winner in many of the specific attributes respondents were polled about, however. It indexed the highest in having high-quality produce, courteous staff, fast checkout, natural and/or organic choices, accurate pricing and tags, nutritional or health information, cleanliness and inviting atmosphere. Aldi led in having low prices, followed by Wal-Mart.
