Who’s Teaching? Elementary, Middle School Appointments for 2013-14

Take a look at some of the new additions at Woodbridge elementary and middle schools.

Although it is still summer, back-to-school is looming and Woodbridge Patch is taking a look at some of the new appointments by the Woodbridge Township Board of Education for next school year.

Are the kids excited about their teachers next year? Here’s a look at some new additions to Township elementary and middle schools.

Mawbey Street School #1

  • Danielle Russo will be a teacher at Mawbey Street this year. Russo holds a Bachelor’s degree. This is her first year teaching. Her salary will be $52,269.

Avenel Street School #4&5

Menlo Park Terrace School #19

  • Jennifer Petro will be a teacher at Menlo Park Terrace. Petro holds a Bachelor’s degree and has one-year experience. Her salary will be $53,382.
Claremont Avenue School #20
  • Marissa Prioetto will be a pre-school ESL teacher. Prioertto holds a Bachelor’s degree+16. This is her first year teaching. Her salary will be $53,476.

Oak Ridge Heights School #21

  • Tiffany Buhler has been hired as a teacher at School #21. Buhler holds a Bachelor’s degree and this is her first year teaching. Her salary will be $52,269.
Lynn Crest School #22

Woodbine Avenue School #23
  • Sarah Graham will be a special education teacher at Woodbine Avenue. Graham holds a Bachelor’s degree and has one-year experience. Her salary will be $54,382.

  • Samantha Suckno will be a special education teacher at Woodbine Avenue. Suckno holds a Bachelor’s degree+16. This is her first year teaching. Her salary will be $53,476.

  • Vanessa DeLusant will be a special education teacher at school #26. DeLusant holds a Bachelor’s degree+32. This is her first year teaching. Her salary will be $54,395.
Pennsylvania Avenue School #27

Matthew Jago School #28

  • Genna Levy will be a special education teacher at Matthew Jago. Levy holds a Master’s degree and has two years teaching experience. Her salary will be $58,148.
Avenel Middle School
  • Joseph Short will be the principal of Avenel Middle School. Short holds a Master’s degree and 15 years experience. His salary will be $138,037.
Colonia Middle School

  • Martin Scarano will be a teacher at Colonia Middle School. Scarano was previously one of the Vice Principals at Woodbridge High School, but following an investigation was demoted to a teacher at CMS. His salary will be $95,020, which is what it would have been for the 2012-2034 school year according to Board Attorney Jonathan Busch.

Fords Middle School
  • Michael DeFelice will be teaching math at Fords Middle. DeFelice holds a Master’s degree and this is his first year teaching. His salary will be $55,924.
  • Delilah Garcia will be teaching language arts as a leave replacement. Garcia holds a Master’s degree and this is her first year teaching. Her salary will be $55,924.
  • Courtney Cuevas will be teaching computers at Fords Middle. Cuevas holds a Bachelor’s degree and this is her first year teaching. Her salary will be $52,269.
Iselin Middle School
  • Matthew Weidele will be teaching social studies at Iselin Middle. Weidele holds a Bachelor’s degree and this is his first year teaching. His salary will be $52,269.
  • Brian Russo will be teaching special education at Iselin Middle. Russo was previously the Supervisor of Guidance and Special Education at Woodbridge High School, but following an investigation was demoted to a teacher at IMS. His salary will be $73,162, which is what it would have been for the 2012-2013 school year, according to Board Attorney Jonathan Busch.
Woodbridge Middle School

The average beginning teacher salary in New Jersey is $44,872 and the average teaching salary is $63,111, according to the National Education Association.
