Fill Out a Township Survey on the Summer Concert Series

The Township of Woodbridge Recreation department is seeking input from residents who attended one or more of the Mayor's Summer Concert series that were held at the James Parker Press Park and on the grounds outside Woodbridge High School. (What did you think about the high athletic fields as a concert site?)

The bands played everything from 50s doo wop music performed by Kenny Vance and the Planotones to Elton John classics performed by the tribute band Bobby and the Jets. Big Shot, a Billy Joel tribute band and Hotel California, an Eagles tribute band also performed during the Mayor's Summer Concert series - the oldest such concert presentation in the township.

The only admission, so to speak, was the donation of non-perishable canned goods or other such items to help stock the township's food pantries. The event was part of the longstanding summer concert series sponsored by Woodbridge ShopRite and Sansone Auto Mall.

The survey also offers concertgoers the chance to chime in on their likes or dislikes. Let the recreation department know if you liked the food vendors; if you enjoyed the Woodbridge Farmer's Market set up in the and open for business by mid afternoon but almost always lasting through one or more of the concerts held nearby.

During the long summer days, it was open to 8:30 pm and usually coincided by one of the township's free summer concerts also held in the park. If you'd like the Farmer's Market to take place at the same time as the summer concerts, jot that down in the survey along with other ideas and suggestions for next year's event.

How did you hear about the concerts? What would you change for the next set of summer concerts in 2012? Did you enjoy the other bands and the style of music they played? Was the oldies music performed by The Brooklyn Reunion Show something you'd like to hear again or was the soulful stylings of Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes more your cup of tea?

Follow the link below to fill out and print the survey. It can be dropped off or mailed to the Recreation and Resident Service Department, c/o Summer Concert Survey, 600 Main Street, Woodbridge, NJ 07095.
